Software and Cyberlaw

In this digital age, almost every start-up will face legal issues surrounding software and the Internet.  Software licensing, application service provider (ASP), software as a service (SaaS) and other cyberlaw issues are central issues to start-ups.  Even start-ups not directly involved in software development will face these issues as they establish an online presence or seek to obtain software useful for running their businesses.  We offer a number of services to assist our clients with software and cyberlaw including, but not limited to:

  • Preparing software license agreements;
  • Preparing Software as a Service (SaaS) agreements;
  • Preparing web page terms of service;
  • Preparing web page privacy policies;
  • Reviewing software license and assignment agreements prepared by others;
  • Advising on e-signature and related issues;
  • Providing tax advice regarding the development, licensing and sale of software; and
  • Providing advice regarding the tax ramifications of conducting business on the Internet.

Many of these services are offered on a flat-fee basis and can be obtained through the Launchpad Library. To view the full list of services currently offered via the Launchpad Library, click here.
